Longford Community Resources Limited (LCRL) employs one participant on the Rural Social Scheme at Longford Women’s Link (LWL) in Longford Town. This participant works a 19.5 hour week on the reception desk at Longford Women’s Link where they deal with the public and carry out a variety of administrative duties.
The aim of the Rural Social Scheme is to provide a variety of community based projects with support by harnessing skills and talents of small farmers or their spouses who want to increase their income by working part time in the community. This work is coordinated by Longford Community Resources Ltd. The Longford/Westmeath Parenting Partnership (LWPP) is delivering Triple P Parenting Programmes in Longford/Westmeath over the coming months. All queries regarding these programmes can be addressed to crona.briody@lwpp.ie or by contacting the Triple P Project
LCRL operates the Rural Transport Programme for the county which is contracted out to local transport providers. Services are “Door to Door” collection, Monday to Saturday. We encourage All Age Groups to avail of the transport in their region, with 23 Services available.

Are you interested in getting involved in our walking club? We start from the front of the Mall Complex every Wednesday at 11:00am. The walk will last no longer than a half hour and the pace will be gentle for the first session at least! Please wear suitable walking shoes and bring a rain coat!
