ON TRACK: Retirement to Active Citizenship

Longford Community Resources Ltd in partnership with Age and Opportunity are organising a course for over 55’s in Co. Longford. If you are over 55 or recently retired this is your chance to learn how you can make a difference in your community.

This ON TRACK: Turning Retirement into Active Citizenship course is starting on Monday 13th February and runs from 10:00am to 1:00pm each Monday for eight weeks.  This course will be held at Currycahill Community Centre, Ballinalee.  The course will be delivered by two experienced facilitators.

This worthwhile course is tailored to the interests of the people taking part and it aims to cover:

  • Awareness of attitudes to older people
  • Working together as members of groups
  • Exploring and analysing issues facing older people
  • Where to go from here?

 

The course is free of charge and is open to anyone over 55. No previous experience necessary. Are you interested in getting involved in our walking club?  We start from the front of the Mall Complex every Wednesday at 11:00am.  The walk will last no longer than a half hour and the pace will be gentle for the first session at least!   Please wear suitable walking shoes and bring a rain coat!  For further information please contact Josephine at 043- 3347944 or 087-6383741.
