Acorn
The LCRL/Acorn Project provides a range of services for people of all ages living in County Longford. Services and initiatives organised by the project include: A Drop-in Centre, addiction counselling, generic counselling, a neutral venue for support workers from Merchants Quay Ireland, the Anna Liffey Drugs and Midlands Simon to meet with Clients. The project provides training, support and capacity building for family members of substance misusers, and families in general who are socially excluded. LCRL/Acorn Project is also involved in estate based work and builds the capacity of residents associations to provide local initiatives including child care and afterschools programme and estate enhancement projects. It also promotes integration activities such as the Longford Street Soccer League.
